Northforge isn’t just another bike brand. It’s built for riders Brand Identity, Brand Messaging,
who seek adventure, tackling trails, gravel roads, and Illustrations & Social Media
mountain paths with precision and courage.
Cycling has always been about freedom, endurance, and
exploration. Yet many brands rely on safe, predictable
visuals that fail to inspire. Northforge needed something
stronger.
Design Goals
The goal was to create a brand identity that reflects premium craftsmanship while capturing the thrill of discovery. A bold, enduring identity for riders who forge their own path.
Concept & Direction:
The direction was built around a clear understanding of the target audience, riders aged 25 to 40 who value quality, performance, and exploration. To guide the visual identity, I developed a set of core keywords including summit, horizon, compass, direction, movement, and trails. These ideas informed the early exploration phase and helped shape a focused and intentional outcome.
To maintain a premium feel, I avoided mascots and overly playful styles. Instead, I focused on a minimal and refined approach that aligns with the brand’s positioning.
Visual references were used to define tone, material, and color direction.
Logo Direction:
The mark forms an upward arrow pointing north, reinforcing the brand name while representing progress and forward motion. It also reads as a mountain peak, connecting to exploration and elevation. Subtle round lines create a sense of horizon, while the circular form brings balance, stability, and consistency to the overall mark.
Identity in Use:
These mockups showcase the Northforge identity across key touchpoints, including signage, billboard design, bicycle application, and packaging. Each piece highlights how the brand maintains a bold, premium, and adventurous feel while staying consistent across both physical and large-scale formats.
